1. The short version
Field records are stored locally on your device. Montgomery Field Systems does not receive your jobs, photos, imported files, or reports unless you intentionally send them to us for support.
2. Information SCOPE can process
Depending on the features you choose, SCOPE can process:
- Job and project details, names, roles, contractors, equipment, dates, remarks, and safety information you enter.
- Operational readings and calculations, including pressures, durations, pipe dimensions, checkpoints, and estimated gas volumes.
- Photos selected from your device or captured with the camera.
- Precise GPS coordinates, city or place information, and current weather when you request location or weather features.
- Files you import, such as PDFs and spreadsheets, and the field information extracted from them.
- App preferences, recovery information, and privacy-redacted diagnostics used to help the app operate reliably.
3. Where information is stored
SCOPE stores its working records in the app’s local storage on your device. Photos are kept in app-managed device storage. The app is designed to work without a Montgomery Field Systems cloud account. Android backup is disabled for the app.
Files that you export, save, email, text, or share are stored or transmitted through the destination and application you select. Those copies are outside SCOPE’s control and are governed by the recipient or service you choose.
4. Location and weather
Location access is optional and permission-based. When you request weather, SCOPE sends latitude and longitude to Open‑Meteo to obtain current conditions. That request is necessary to return location-specific weather. Montgomery Field Systems does not operate Open‑Meteo and does not receive a copy of the request through its own servers.
You may deny location permission, enter coordinates manually, or use SCOPE without recording a location. Weather is operational context and is not automatically treated as gas temperature.
5. Camera, photos, files, and notifications
Camera access is used only when you choose to capture a field photo. File access is used when you choose to import, restore, export, or attach information. Notification permission may be used for app status or update notices. SCOPE does not use these permissions for advertising or tracking.
6. Sharing and third parties
SCOPE does not sell personal information and does not include third-party advertising or behavioral tracking. Information leaves the app when you direct SCOPE to export or share it, when you request weather from Open‑Meteo, or when you voluntarily provide materials to support. Email, messaging, cloud storage, document viewers, and other destination apps follow their own privacy practices.
7. Retention and deletion
Local records remain on the device until you delete an individual project, empty the deleted-project recovery area, use Delete all app data, clear the app’s storage through Android, or uninstall the app. Exported files and backups must be deleted separately from wherever you saved or shared them.
Because the current app has no hosted user account, Montgomery Field Systems generally has no remote SCOPE account data to delete. See the Data Deletion instructions for complete steps.
8. Security and field responsibility
We use reasonable technical safeguards appropriate to a device-local application, but no device or transmission method is completely secure. Protect your device, review recipients before sharing, and follow your employer’s information-handling requirements.
SCOPE is a documentation and estimating tool. It does not replace operator procedures, engineering review, regulatory requirements, or qualified professional judgment.
9. Children’s privacy
SCOPE is a professional field application and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information.
10. Changes and contact
